I wasn't going to say anything since it didn't seem my place, but since you asked for opinions - I think adding stickies for non-website things sets a precedent for lots of people to ask for a sticky about their issue they feel strongly about. I can't stand it when I go to a forum and there are 8 - 10 stickies before you even get to new messages.

Completely agree. There are SO many really important topics. Too many stickies just makes things messy in many ways.

Same here. Jeff, you have exactly the right instinct. Too many things flagged as "important" means nothing is. Not saying the post about good touch/bad touch isn't helpful- I think it is incredibly helpful to give expert advice on a volatile topic with a ton of misinformation floating around.

I am reluctant to add sticky posts to the General Parenting forum because the top of the list is already crowded with announcements and the abbreviations thread. Adding more stickies will encourage requests for stickies and too many just results in all of them being ignored. If others feel strongly about this, I'd welcome hearing from them.

OP here. No I think it should be directed toward parents of very young kids as well. The link specifically discusses how to start teaching this to barely verbal kids.

How about the "older kids" forum instead of general parenting?

Hi Jeff, would you consider posting a thread like the current one on good touch/bad touch guidance as a sticky on the general parenting forum? I was actually able to put into practice guidance I read here on DCUM when I faced a situation with my child, and I think it's the kind of thing that a constant reminder would be good for.
