Boy this is a condescending response. Umm, IDK, maybe it keeps coming up because other people aren't as perfect as you are? (Not OP but also interested in legitimate answers.)

(1) Book club for DS and his buddies. The moms of DS's friends are all on board. We just haven't yet mentioned it to the boys. I think that they will think it's uncool, but we still want to try it!
(2) A week where different parents take a group of 3-4 boys on an outing (museum, zoo, movie, etc). It works for working parents too because you can rotate who spends the day with the boys.
(3) Any ideas for what 12-year-old boys can do when they're together? They tend to like to ride bikes or watch TV. Has anyone been able to persuade them to do things like play a board game or cook something?

Because he will earn about $200/week, he will be putting half in his saving for a car account, and he will be using the rest for clothes, movies and whatever else he has time for.
He tells me that this year he also has a goal is to save enough money for his own new lawnmower because he is tired of our old one.
To me, this is what 12 year olds should be doing.
