I thought there was a fashion rule to never try to match two different clothing items of navy unless they were designed to match.

Unlike black, navy shades and tones vary so much. Not just any navy blazer will go with any navy skirt. Same with navy shoes and a navy dress. The two different shades of navy can look odd.

Nude or navy. A bright color will make the outfit too busy with a two tone geometric pattern.

I'd go navy or nude to "play it safe", but I LOVE the idea of the yellow or pink if you can do it!

I'd do nude/taupe or navy. Colors suggested above would be fun. I love navy with bright kelly green too

For business event I would try dark navy or black or nude. Red may also work well - but the super bright, I think cherry color or similar. A bit Tough to say without seeing the color of dress and shoes.

If it was social I would have chosen something bright, but not to a business event. Make sure the heels are not too high if you'll need to be on your feet for so long.

Nude/taupe for the conservative option. Go bright pink, orange, lime green, yellow or purple for the fun option.

Heading into macys and need to find comfortable pumps to wear with a Ralph Lauren faux wrap dress with a navy and white geometric pattern. It's a dark navy...I thought it was black until I got home.

So what color?

Navy?

Brown?

Nude/taupe?

Go crazy and add a pop of color like lime or orange?

I have to wear it to a business event where I might end up on my feet from 7:30 until well past dinner...so I might opt for more sensible flats.

Thoughts???
