I think the bracelet is fun. The above is great too.

This is our first year in middle school. Is it appropriate to give all 6 teachers a gift card? I genuinely don't want to appear to be trying to butter up these teachers for my son, but instead just want to thank them for their hard work and going above and beyond. Does a $20 Amazon gift card per teacher seem appropriate? Thx!

Sounds like a great, original and thoughtful idea to me. (I am a teacher)

I think it's really sweet to be thinking of getting something special for your teacher, sounds like you really like her.

To be honest, the Mom's at my school seem to wear those bracelets and they wear them in a large stacks. One bracelet may look funny and it may not be something her age bracket is wearing. If it was a teacher that already had a few on her wrist I would say go for it.

While a gift card may seem unoriginal, I know it is always appreciated - and easy for you to purchase.

This is what I asked our room mom to do with part of the funds collected for end of year gift. I heard her talk about it and I have one she admired.

It is a nice gift but not so expensive that it seems weird.

How about the Enrichment teachers (Art, Music, Library, Language) and Staff?

Teachers honestly do not expect anything. I am always surprised by any token of appreciation I receive. All I want and hope for is a genuine thank you.

I think when you're wondering whether something is appropriate that's a sign that maybe your relationship isn't close enough for that type of gift. What about a book?

NO THINGS!!! Please do not give things as gifts. It just ends up as clutter (and guilt if I do throw it away).

Please give a GC to Target, Staples/Office Depot, Amazon or a spa.

The best thing you can give a teacher is a heart felt note from the student or parent about something specific the teacher did (not just generic "you are a good teacher") or is some way impacted the student, along with a picture. That stuff is gold---so much better than a bracelet.

Is an Alex and Ani bracelet a weird gift for a young-ish teacher? They have an "apple" bracelet meant for teacher/insight/wisdom.
