I like the Duncan Hines one best of all, and I bake a lot from scratch as well.

Oh no! I'm not sure which one it is, but I think only one of them has a boxed cake mix. But do they both have cake shows on tlc? I just know it's one of those cake show guys and the boxed mix is pretty damn good. Sorry for being confusing

What is the trouble of adding an extra egg and melting some butter? I am assuming you are referring to the pp who posted the tips for a bakery quality cake from a cake mix.

I always use duncan hines and here is how I make it amazing.

substitutions:
instead of 1c of water, add 1 cup of milk (for a richer cake I do half and half)
instead of oil, double the amount (usually 1/3c) and add melted butter
instead of three eggs do four

when you mix it will be thick, but mix it well and bake according to box but check 5 minutes earlier

bonus:
add a box of jello pudding of choice
We love vanilla cake with white chocolate pudding
Also chocolate chocolate is a very decadent treat

Duncan Hines triple chocolate. I use this mix all the time and get lots of compliments.

Looking for a chocolate one and a vanilla one for a school event on Monday. Normally I'm a scratch person, but this is a busy weekend and I'll have baby on my hip when throwing it together. What's your favorite?
