If it were something about molesting a kid when he was a coach, wouldn't that person have tried to use it when he had the most to lose -- at the height of his political power? Wonder if it is possibly something related to his time as Speaker. Not to get all House of Cardsy, because I think that show is garbage, but I do wonder if it relates to his official duties.
It could've taken the victim a while to get the courage to confront him.
Molestation would be a he-said-she/he-said. I'm not sure Hastert would pay what has to amount the bulk of his net worth on an allegation that likely couldn't be proven. I also think any molestation charges would have come out when he was in office. I'm guessing he did something illegal that involved a big pay-off/bribe while he was a in the House. I'm also guessing that the person bribing him is someone who worked for him.

At least Boehner has some integrity.
How much integrity can a drunk have?
Anonymous wrote:Could be anything. He was a high school teacher and a coach. Based on the dollar amount, I'd guess child support is involved. It seems like far too much money for just a cover up.
