LOL, My ex is now with a woman who is 10 years younger than him.

It's not lost on me that they got together when she was 29 - the same age I got married. He managed to find a person with his same egotistical, not mature personality. Bonus - she's willing to be a babysitter/ mom to our daughter so again, he can do whatever he wants to do, except be around for our daughter.

History repeating itself. Interesting to watch from the outside this time.

DH has two friends who have recently divorced, remarried and now having their second set of kids. While I think DH is somewhat impressed by the looks of wives #2 he is not at all jealous that they are going back to the little kid phase again, especially now that most of their friends have older kids and life has gotten a little easier. But, to each his own.

For us, I'm 13 years younger than DH. When he was my age (when we met) he wasn't mature enough to be in a relationship. He was married prior, no children and they divorced amicably mostly because he was selfish with his time and didn't fully understand that he can't do whatever he wants when he's attached and has responsibilities. He matured, sowed his oats, advanced his career, found me and we've been married 17 years.

Because they are usually better looking and less jaded than older women. A man should marry for beauty--multiple times, if need be.

In my own DHs case it's because he wanted kids.

Because as they get older, they feel a need to capture whatever youth they can + secure it forever.

I think because youth and beauty go together? Maybe because men are still able to father kids and do not have a ticking biological clock? Maybe because they get more sex from younger women? Maybe because men are scared of dying? Maybe because it is a feather in their cap?

I think some men want to get the adoring eyes the had the first time around' and it is harder to get with a more mature experienced woman. They want someone who will be impressed by them, not necessarily to dominate them, just to feel better about themselves" someone who will give them a positive image about themselves as they are getting a tiny bit closer to the grave...

Women their age would tend to look at them with more irony/distance" that s also why men often elope with women who are not socially their "equal" (the personal assistant for ex.), same principle: they get the adoring ego boosting eyes they haven't been getting at home for years anymore...

I personally think it's a combination of sexual attraction, and she doesn't have the skills to call him on the baloney his first wife left wouldn't put up with.

Why do younger women marry older men?

I feel like it's usually an even split between guys remarrying older, same age, or younger.

Youthful sex because of the raging hormones.

I dunno, why do some remarry to older women? It depends who you fall in love with.

Why is it that when men remarry, it is with much younger women?
