I have always found it a little tacky so it is not my taste but if you like it and want to do it go for it. You could always hang it after baby comes.

We have wooded letters in my son's room. He is 6 and they match his furniture. We keep them on the window sill.
Weather it is wooden letters or a decal they are both easy to add once the baby is born.

Save the drama of decorating the baby's room but keeping it a secret
Just put them up after the baby is born of that is what you want to do

I think it can be done nicely, but the vast, vast majority of time I have seen it in real life, it looks tacky. Even in homes that are otherwise nicely decorated, people with good taste.

If you mean hanging letters like this, just don't put them up until the baby comes.

We painted the wooden letters of his name to match the colors/theme of his room. You could do that instead of the decal, and just hang them after baby is born if you want to keep it secret.

(If that makes me a redneck teen mom, that's news to me! I think his nursery is cute )

Husband said it seemed a bit weird to do, but I've seen plenty of examples on Project Nursery, Pinterest, etc.

So are you putting his/her name on the wall (or anywhere in the room)? Why or why not?

This is reason alone not to do it. What are you going to do--seal the room with tape?

I've never understood why you would put the baby's name on the wall. Do you have your name in huge letters in your bedroom? The baby can't read it. And I'm assuming you know what the baby's name is, yes? Save the walls for photos or of pictures/posters/colors that make you happy. Just because it's on Pinterest doesn't mean it's something you should do.

You really wouldn't let your mom see the nursery before birth? I think you are way over-dramatizing this. Please don't be that mom!

Nope. I don't understand that trend.
