There is no Mary Elementary School on or near Capitol Hill.

OP, there are some great coop playschools on the Hill too. CHCPS and G St Coop are great. These are for two year olds to socialize them before they start school at age 3.

Those are great picks and historic Capitol Hill is also a safe bet. What you need to ask yourself is where would you locate if you're priced out of those areas. Not so much a question of how much you have available but you might find it absurd to pay that much for very little space in return. You can get a lot more house for the same amount of money around Miner or Ludlow-Taylor, Tyler, Payne etc. Those schools might not get as much traction but worth your while. And there are a host of charter schools. In short, think twice before you pay exorbitant prices.

So what exactly is your recommendation since you seem to think that the "Mary" district is terrible? You added nothing to this discussion.

Are you planning to stay on the Hill past 3rd - 4th grade? If not, Maury, Brent, Peabody, Ludlow-Taylor, should all be fine. If you need a guaranteed middle school option, it's a harder call. Peabody and LT feed to Stuart-Hobson, which is your best bet. You can always hope for luck in the charter lotteries by middle school or plan to move off the Hill.

Hi, we are going to buy on the Hill in the next year. we have a one year old so no desperate need for elementary school but do want to be in bounds for a good one if possible. What are the good ones? Brent, Maury? What else? Thanks!
