We bought a house recently and I just did some touch ups with paints left by the owner. They color matched a SW paint color using BM paint, and it was done at the BM store in Chevy Chase DC on Conn Ave. the color match was perfect, so they definitely do a great job.

Home Depot generally just sticks it in the machine and takes whatever comes out. A good store will usually do a few tweaks to give you the best possible match. When i worked in Arlington, I'd do this at the Benjamin Moore store on Lee Hwy. I'd be inclined to check out the one on CT ave that a PP mentioned.

Logan Hardware and 5th Street Ace Hardware will do it. We recently bought some paint matched to Farrow and Ball paint colors.
Logan Hardware carries Benjamin Moore and Ace paint brands and 5th Street location carries Valspar and other Ace brands.
Not sure if the Georgetown Sherwin Williams does the color matching, but they're having a 40% off sale this weekend, I was told.

Also in NW DC. We usually go to Strosnider's in Bethesda, but I suppose Ace Hardware in the Best Buy complex in Tenley could handle. We've gone to Strosnider's for years long before Ace opened.

Hi - I need to touch up some paint in a few rooms. Any experience with color matching at the local paint store? One is a Restoration Hardware paint color that is no longer made - the other two are Duron paints. i have the paint but it's maybe 8-10 years old. I guess I should just go to Duron for more of the Duron paints but what's the best place to have the other one matched? We're in NW DC.
