Disney cruises are great because of the service. They will go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. There are multiple restaurants that are included in the cost that will cater to virtually any dietary need.

I'm not a Disney person. My kids aren't even into Disney and none of us are particularly fond of cruises, but we do love the Disney cruises for the above reasons.

My husband keeps trying to convince me to do a Disney cruise and I just can't. Freaking $7k to go to a small island and Key West? Uh, no.

Love the Disney cruises, but only the longer itineraries--the 7 nights or more on the Fantasy or Magic. The shorter itineraries and other ships I don't enjoy.

This is so odd. Why would you tell us you haven't been someplace in 15 years yet still make a comparison to it? I swear it's like you wanted to rush in to reassure us you don't eat at Applebees or something. Is that right? Really peculiar. Do you actively avoid Applebees? If so, why?

Well $9k is crazy, pp. We paid less than $4k for five nights on the Wonder (two connecting cabins on deck 2) and the weather was beautiful...that might be the difference between having a good or bad time.

23:32 here -- I should note that our waiters were great, cabin guy was great, the cabins themselves were good (kids in one, parents in another -- plenty of space). The ocean was lovely when it wasn't in a hurricane and even then it was interesting to watch. The ship was decently clean and the shows we saw were pretty good. So, Disney does some things right. But, overall, it was not worth it and would not do it again.

Well it is kind of boring if you're not with a smallish child. Other cruises have way more adult themed things to do. But if you are traveling with a small kid, there's nothing better. The other thing is the safety and cleanliness records of DCL - can't be beat.

My two cents:

Our family had a blast! Five nights on the Wonder in late October. Gorgeous weather! Stops at Cozumel and Castaway Cay. The cruise was cheaper than WDW. Had two connecting cabins on Deck 2 (big windows, no verandah = less expensive). Shows and halloween activities were fun. Loved the fact that DH and I could split up to take the big kids and little kids to certain activities. We didn't use the kids clubs, but everyone seems to rave about them. Our kids still talk about the cruise.

We loved it. DD still raves about it, five years later.

Can you give details? I'm not a fan of cruises, but people rave about these cruises and airways say we should go.

Would love to see another perspective.
