Huge bowl of pasta salad.

Make tortellini ahead, mix with pesto and cherry tomatoes and leaves of basil. You can chill it or serve it at room temp.

Black and white bean salad

Mix two cans of beans -- one black one white -- with a carton of remade mango salsa from whole foods. Voila!

Instead of creamed corn we cook the corn on the cob on the grill. Seems we always have watermelon on Memorial Day. We sometimes use Italian sausages instead of hotdogs. You can't make a mistake with a BBQ menu. Enjoy.

What about chicken satay on sticks? And do you spiral cut your hot dogs? Game changer. Also try Apple cabbage slaw with poppy seed dressing

Homemade creamed corn. Made this tonight for a BBQ and one guy liked it so much I saw him piling it on a hotdog just to eat more.

6-8 ears fresh corn (maybe more depending on how many people you have). Scrape it down to get all the kernels and corn milk out. Throw it in the crockpot.

Slice a stick of butter into pats and throw that in. Do the same with a block of Philadelphia cream cheese. Full fat, no store brands, you need the good stuff that melts smoothly.

2-3 tbsp sugar. 1-2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper.

2/3-3/4 cup milk. Add some heavy cream for good measure.

Stir it all up and cook it on high in your crockpot for 3 hours. Or low for longer. Keep it on warm while everyone's serving.

BBQ chicken! Rub various parts with a good BBQ rub, grill over med/low heat, brushing with sauce at the end. I'm partial to drumsticks myself, but I suppose a mix of white & dark meat is best.

Coleslaw or a broccoli salad on the side. And watermelon.

Chicken kabobs are our go-to for the kids.
Buy white meat and use marinade so it wouldn't be dry.

Not for a Memorial Day BBQ. Mac and cheese and fruit for kids.

Grill whatever you want, but make a large Mac and cheese casserole and cut up a few watermelons so the kids will be accommodated, too. Maybe ribs? BBQ chicken?

Trying to get away from just standard burgers and dogs...but having about 10 kids (20 all together). Any suggestions? Thanks.
