Glad you are seeing the surgeon.

Thanks all. It's better today (not as hot) but I'm seeing the surgeon just in case since we have a long weekend ahead.

Hot is different from warm. WARM may mean healing, HOT more typically indicates infection. The swelling may be contributing to the feeling, but I'd prefer to be on the safe side and go get seen if you don't get a return call soon.

FYI - my husband had acl surgery years back. His leg (not the incision) was hot/warm and stiff. We waited for an hour for the doc to call back and I refused to wait another minute. He had a DVT (blood clot). He was admitted for two nights. Call your doc, but don't wait too long.

I would wait until tomorrow if the only thing going on is the hotness.

I feel totally fine, no drainage, hard to tell the color since the whole area is kind of bruised and swollen. It's really hard when I touch it but no other symptoms.

I had ACL reconstruction surgery and had the stitches taken out on Monday. Today I noticed the whole knee is really hot and hard. I'm waiting for a call back from the doctor and don't want to panic but does that indicate possible infection? If yes, can I wait until the morning (in case they don't call back today) or should I go to the ER.
