My son & I commute to the 2 Rivers area from Petworth, different school though. We don't drive and it's really not that bad. We ride the MBT when we bike commute or take the 60 or 64 to Fort Totten and catch the red line to NoMa, then a short walk for public transit. Not really stressful, we read on the bus & train and when the weather's nice, the MBT is fantastic.

We commuted from the Sherman Circle area of Petworth to Two Rivers for about three weeks and found it really stress-causing. Hated it. And while Two Rivers was a great school, from an academic and school community perspective, I really hated the location and facility. It was simply not what I had envisioned for my child. So when we got a call from another school, we jumped. We still have a 20 minute commute but in terms of stress and anxiety, it's like night and day. New York and Florida is one of the worst traffic challenges in the city. Two Rivers is a great school, but the commute does matter.

I'm the brightwood poster. Yes, this. You take the 2nd turnoff at irving and go right at Michigan (left on Franklin). And the reality is North Cap is only backed up near at the start of the cemetery. Once you get near the Old Soldiers Home you'll fly.

I don't go that way because the reality is, there are less traffic lights if I take the Irving exit. When I wrote this I didn't want to go too into detail since there are a few turns but it's the fastest route from my house near 14th.

Same here from not that far from you. Although we take Irving to Monroe (stay in far right lane when turning left), then right on 4th. That way we can turn right onto Douglas and drop off at kiss and go without making any turns or circling. Then we leave via Franklin. Commute is very easy. Love it.

You can probably take Michigan to IT and for 2 Rivers maybe back roads by the old BET station?

Find a way to 2R that doesn't involve FL or NY. Those roads are the worst.

Depends on what part of Petworth but we go from Illinois and it takes about 8-10 to get to ITS, about 8 to get home.

How long does the trip take you in the morning? Are there ways to avoid the worst traffic?
