Rowe are crazy comfortable. We've had ours ten years and it has held up really nicely!

I like crate and barrel furniture. We just bought a couch from belfort. They had some nice stuff at all kinds of price ranges and incredibly helpful sales staff. Not pushy sales people like we experienced at places like ashley & lazy boy.

I also went with Ethan Allen. Most of the sofas are made in the US.

Our Ethan Allen couches have been awesome, even with a house full of boys.

Bernhardt makes really nice couches. I'm also a fan of Rowe.

Rowe, La-Z-Boy, Simplicity all make high quality affordable sofas. Also all American made, if that matters to you.
Alternatively, I know people who SWEAR by their IKEA Ektorp sofas. I just hate those ugly roll arms.

I'm trying to find great quality couches on Craigslist for our new house! I want something a bit more formal, but comfortable, and really hate poor quality furniture that costs an arm and a leg (i.e. Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, etc.)
Are there any tried-and-true brands that I can search for?
