I think the men are the best part of this show and hope in season two that the writers develop their characters more. The women are cliches,and there are plenty of other movies/TV shows that explore what happens to aging women after their husbands leave them for their "true loves." The storyline of two men who've been law partners and (privately) lovers for a lifetime coming out together and leaving their wives at this moment in history (true social legitimacy and acceptance ) seems much more interesting.

There was nothing fresh or interesting or noteworthy about the way Tomlin and Fonda's characters dealt with their situations. Such a disappointment,

I find the show entertaining, and I love that beach house that they live in.

Just started watch the series and I want to agree with immediate PP.

I like the show but because of the plastic surgery of both women, they cannot act with subtlety.

Also, what happened to Sam Waterson's acting skill? He's all awkward.

I want to like the show but just can't. Yet still, I watch. It's the man-kisses probably.

+1 Although i watched the whole thing. It was flat.

And people need to stop supporting plastic surgery like it's a good thing. The complete lack of appropriate facial movement and expression is a huge part of what made this so flat.

Just finished the season - still can't decide if i like it or not? Love all the actors - love the kids too. Just not sure who clever and original it is? Feels like the odd couple for the 21 century. I really want to like it tho. Terrible ending to the season - anyone know if they're doing a season 2?

Lily Tomlin is aging so well. She looks amazing. So does Jane Fonda of course.

Just watched the first episode. I was disappointed. Love all the actors but thought the whole thing was a little flat...will watch a couple more probably but not sure.

I've watched the first two episodes and liked it well enough. I was hoping to love it. I'm disappointed that the two female leads are such cliches so far-- the uptight WASP and the hippy Jew.

It has a lot of potential, though, and I'll watch more.

The promo looks so old fashioned. But I love all the actors involved so I know I will watch it. I just seriously hated the promo.

On episode 2 and I like it a lot so far!
