Subject: Re:What do you do for your Mom/MIL for Mother's Day?
I am glad to read this thread.
My mom got flowers and a card. I have gifts for when I see her next (she lives about 4-5 hours away).
DH's mom has passed away.

Send flowers and call. We talk to my parents everyday on FaceTime and my MIL several times a week that way. I feel like we stay connected pretty well, so flowers seems sufficient.

Cards and calls usually. We each cover for our own moms.

Both our mothers are out of town and I purchase all the gifts and cards (I don't mind.)
My mom got make-up and perfume (her request) and his mother got flowers and candy.
His stepmother got a card as did our godmothers.

Cards for both (one from their respective child and one from our child to each) and we'll call. Both are either a flight or 6 hour drive away.

Card and small gift (gift card, annuals, take out to brunch, varies each year.)

Send flowers and visit her during the weekend. She is local.

They both live within driving distance. The past couple years I haven't done much because I had my hands full, but this year we're inviting both up for lunch at our place. I also sent them flowers.

I haven't talked to my mother since I was 15 so do nothing for her. My MIL lives across the country.
We are sending her flowers and some fancy schmancy candy she likes will be delivered to the spa we're sending her to.

I send an email. She doesn't answer her phone and she'll be out of the country this weekend anyway.
I get an email for my birthday, sometimes not even actually on my birthday, so I feel only mildly guilty.

That is what we used to do.

What do you/DH do for your mother/MIL for Mother's Day?
We don't live locally (and we aren't particularly close with either) so we will call and send a gift. I also had our toddler make them a gift as well.
