The whole point of this forum is to vent - I don't really give a fuck if you think my vent is worthy of your time reading it or not - I just wanted to vent!

Don't live like that. Life is too short. Just say "thank you" and move on.

The poor lady. Why don't you just tell her they're the wrong size so they can returned?

Because she buys them clearance and they can't be returned (I tried this the first time use did this).

So say to her, "Thanks so much for buying clothes for Larla! Unfortunately, she won't be still be a size 8 this winter, since she's growing like a weed. Would you like me to return the clothes to you or pass them along to someone who can use them?"

Consign the clothes and swap them out for something else.

It is?

No, it is to get advice.

I think this belongs in the "Tell me your first world problem" thread in Off Topic.

You touch on the tricky line between graciously accepting whatever gift is offered in the spirit it was given and making a wishlist to help grandparents with gifts.

It's tough. Do you have the kind of relationship where an Amazon wishlist would go over well with her? This works differently in every family. For some it's a godsend, for others it reads grabby and tacky.

There's a line. Maybe find out where you stand? She clearly wants to participate.

I just return everything anyway and buy 1 in season item in exchange for 10 clearance items.

Sell it and buy new stuff. Or donate to a family that would love brand new clothes with tags still on.

We often get gifted crap we can't use. Makes me thankful that my biggest problem is too much stuff.

I hear you. My kids never wear the stuff MIL buys them. It is such a waste.
