NP, but you do sound kind of bitter. You can be friends with people from college without all of your conversations centering around that time in your life. Sounds like you have an issue with what this people are discussing, not the people they are discussing it with.

I have one close friend from college but I only see her once a year when we visit CA, where I grew up and went to college.

My current group of close friends are all women I've met via mom stuff in DC.

No, I have a few from high school, a few from college and more mom friends. I'd say that I'm closest to HS then college friends. I didn't go to college around here though, so all of my college friends live in the NYC area.

Yeah... I had to think about it for a moment but, yes - my closest friends are from college.

I think a lot has changed due to the internet/social media. The way we make and maintain relationships has changed, so some of these old rules no longer apply. I'm in my 30s and barely know anything of my closest high school friends. My college friends I don't see regularly, but we keep in touch and when I do see them, it's a very natural and comfortable and easy interaction.

Most of my closest friends are from college. They don't all live here. Others are from law school, and they also live all over.

Actually, my closest friends are either people I knew from childhood (before college) or people I have met since then. In fact, I am probably closer to people I met in law school than I am to people in college.

One of my best friends is from college. I socialized much more with my college friends through my twenties. Now in my late 30's I socialize most with a core group of friends I met through various activities plus a couple of college friends.

Yes, my closest friends are friends from college, but I think that's mostly because they also live here. If they did not, I don't know if I would be as close friends with them.

I think this is a big myth, but also sounds very appealing to 16/ 17 year olds who have no perspective on what "friends for life" really means.

And frankly, I find the few people that I know at my age (mid 40s) who still talk about friends from college, are those whose life seemed to peak then.
