The midwives at GWU were the worst in my experience. And they get so much good press for their work.

Too many people make appointments and don't show without calling or cancel at the last minute. They have to pay for the office space, pay large malpractice insurance premiums, etc. I doubt anyone wants to double book.

I deducted my time from Doctor's bill. Never had to wait again.

Mine is never a moment late, but it's a cash practice. I get what I pay for. Agree that it shouldn't have to be like this and we should be able to be seen on time by a regular insurance-accepting doctor.

Our dr's office will get you in that day if it is urgent, therefore people after that person have to wait.

Why do you keep posting this question every 3 months?

Same here. My final straw came years ago after I was robed up and in the exam room for 25 minutes. I put my clothes back on and walked out.

I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes, although it's a very busy practice. I'm at Medstar Georgetown.

I call them before I head out, and let them know how much time I can afford to wait. Then I ask if I should reschedule... with another provider.

I've had it with doctor entitlement.

When a doctor's office does this to me, I immediately switch. When I find a compete tent, desirable office (almost immediately) - I let them know from which office they can poach patients

They DOUBLE BOOK appts every 15 mins. Once I waited at an OBGYNs office and three of the women also waiting all had the same appt time as me or within 20 mins.

I can't think of any other industry that does this. If I had an appointment with a client at 330 and they were still in the waiting room for an hour I'd get fired. It's the lack of accountability due to getting paid by insurance rather than the actual patient that allows them to do this. Greedy.
