I use the CBFM in the mornings and as I get closer to when I think I will ovulate, I use the advanced clear blue OPKs in the afternoon. The clear blue OPKs always catch my surge the day before the CBFM. My surge is also short (I will test again with OPK that afternoon of the positive CBFM and it will already be negative), so if I didn't test in the afternoon, I could potentially miss it.

I've read that your surge is not typically picked up in your first morning urine, and it's better to test after 10am because that is when it would be present in urine (no idea why). I test 2x a day when I'm in my fertile window, and I always get my first positive with the 2nd test in the evening. I would recommend testing 2x a day when you know you are nearing your LH surge date.

I think it's worth trying later in the day. The packaging does suggest testing later rather than right in the morning.

What worked best for me was to test in the morning but not first thing -- like my second pee of the day. If you get up and pee right away, maybe if you go again before heading out for the day, that would be a convenient and slightly better time to test (?).

I found that my pee was more concentrated in the mornings and I didn't test positive sometimes when I tested later in the day when it was more watered-down (like I would test in the morning on day 13 and get a positive but get a negative that evening and a positive again the next morning on day 14).

I was thinking that if most of the blurbs say you ovulate "12-36 hrs" after the start of the LH surge and I'm more on the 12 hr end and testing in the morning, I may be catching a surge that started the day before and be a bit late, if we go on to have sex the night after I get the positive. I think we'll work harder to have sex in the night or two before I think I'll get the strong positive and shift to testing later in the day and see what happens.

I Have been using the clear blue advanced ovulation in the morning and cheapies in the evening. This month I had a "high fertility" reading Friday morning, a + LH surge on a cheap one Friday afternoon, and a "peak fertility" Saturday morning. So I feel like the advanced digital one detected my LH surge a little later. We added another sex session Friday night due to cheap OPK, but probably would have only had sex Thursday and Saturday based on the digital. Long story short-- I think it's a good idea.

I never got the wondfo ones down pat and I added using the digital one in the morning. Trouble is, using the wondfo ones, you get the best results if you hold your pee for at least four hours, which I could never do during the right times (hence the adding first thing in the morning kit). I eventually got to notice a pattern where the wondfo lines would get darker and darker, even if they weren't obviously positive. Then I knew to go for it.

Subject says it all. I've been testing first thing in the morning, just for convenience but am also beginning to think that I might ovulate sooner than later after the beginning of the LH surge, so wondering if testing later in the day would make sense. (I know the wondfos and others say to do so after, like, 10). You reckon late morning is best or early evening, post-work is ok?
