I am the PP. No. DS was initially rejected with low test scores and 16 for GBRS. My original parent input did not help him. The only thing that was going to get him admitted on appeal was his WISC score, which was high enough to validate the GBRS.

Thanks for this, PP. I'm in a similar situation with DC. What score on the WISC IV would reverse ineligibility? How does your DS like the program?

My DS had a score of 144, but I have heard score of 130 or higher would reverse ineligibility. I don't think there is an established WISC score that the committee uses to determine eligibility.

My DS loves the program. He made new friends at the center. He likes his teachers. He is learning. All around it has been a positive experience.

WISC works, but only when the scores are good.

We added addl gbrs commentary where we thought dc was underrated - frankly we think the WISC is what most compelling

I'm not PP but cn answer this- if it's the same school year, you will not get a new GBRS. In a new school year, one would be developed for your child.

For the appeal I submitted the required form and the WISC. I did not include anything else. My son was accepted.

very simple. follow the instructions given in the letter you just received. fcps aap committee will only consider new evidence. for us, it was a WISC test, DRA test and commentary on GBRS behaviors. accepted. Good luck!

Could anyone please discuss his/her reasons for submitting an appeal? What steps did you take (what did you submit) and in the end did it result in your DC's eligibility for Level IV?
