I'm the OP and I thought about not posting because I didn't want it to get ugly. Ultimately I wanted people to know about this very promising young girl and what happened to her so that maybe something similar could be prevented.

I agree. What did they know about the roommate before letting him room with them? How did the connect with him? What did the school know about him? Lots of unanswered questions and a horrific tragedy. Maybe it could have been avoided. Maybe not. I think it is important to learn from tragedies so they are not repeated.

She appears to have been a promising young woman who was absolutely cherished by her family. This is just so sad. And the very few details about what happened to her are chilling. My heart goes out to her family as they try to grasp what has happened to this beloved girl.

Can anyone she'd some light on the nature of relationships of the roommates in that rental house?

possibly. I am so sad for her family, though. Senseless loss.

I'm sure her family would prefer that we *not* have a thread on this.

I didn't see a thread on this yet. What a horrible tragedy for a local family.
