Op here. There is also a leash law in our jurisdiction, but I find it peculiar that such a large percentage of people flaunt their dismissal of it. An accepted wrong is still a wrong.

Something nasty though is racoon poop. I had no idea they poop that much! And the smell was horrific.

OP here. We don't have raccoons. We have other wildlife, but no poop, interestingly. That is part of how I know which dogs it is! I also happen to have no problem with wildlife, as wildlife was here long before us. But the little yappy dogs have no problem deliberately coming into other people's yards and making a deposit. It does not disappear before my children go out to play, nor should I expect it to. I like the idea of taking pictures. Any other helpful information is appreciated.

As a dog owner, I'd like it if someone mentioned it to me that it was a problem. I wouldn't go ballistic like pp's neighbor.

It is annoying to step in "little dog" poop when walking with our children; and having it in our yard when the children want to play (in their own yard!). Thanks.

I had a similar problem. I first tried the talking to the pet owner approach. Non confrontational, hey your dogs are causing this problem.... Big mistake. she went ballistic on me. Now I just automatically take a picture of her dogs and call animal control.

I feel like if I report, they will know it was me, and there will be retaliation. We live in a neighborhood that, while the majority might be in the wrong, neighbors seem to want to run it as their own little island. Strange mentality.

What now? These words are all English, but they're not strung together in any cogent way.

Looks cogent enough for most people. I understood it. Maybe you're unwell.

+1

What is your problem, PP? A rhetorical question, of course.

Do you have a HOA? You could report via to a board member.

Free range dogs! If it's good enough for kids, it's good for the dogs, too.

Especially the small dogs. I don't want to report them, but the small dogs are in other neighbors' yards pooping, and generally causing trouble (in addition to being quite happy, and antagonistic to other pets). It seems to somehow be a "cultural norm" here.

I would think the foxes in the neighborhood would be enough deterrent, but they do not seem to be. WWYD?
