I take Elavil, which is very old school. It's rarely prescribed anymore but it works for me like nothing else. I take it when I'm getting dinner ready, like someone else may drink a glass of wine. By the time I get the kids down, I'm ready for bed. I haven't experienced the hangover effect you describe.

I take it night before bed. Never really thought about it one way or the other. It would be an interesting experiment!

I always took it in the am..along w/ my bc pill and putting in contacts. It was a good way to remember to do all of these things. But I also didn't have any adverse sleep issues with it. Maybe experiment and see what time leads to you feeling better?

I take it about an hour before I go to sleep. Knocks me out hardcore. I sleep like I'm dead. I once tried it in the morning and I could not stay awake.

I take Lexapro at night before bed but I never ever wake up refreshed. I'm wondering if I should take it in the morning instead?
