The best you can do is help him get as many applications out there as he can and hope for the best. If it's meant to be it will be. If it doesn't work out than you know the saying, better to have loved and lost than never loved at all.

OP here: I am not getting married anytime soon as I am only 22. My relationship does shows all the signs of a healthy relationship–communication, we like spending time with the each other, interaction with our family and friends, and so on. We have also been living together for a few months now. Visas are complicated and an overall headache. My boyfriend will have to consult with an attorney to get this all sorted out. It just sounds like he's in danger of losing his H1 visa and it will be almost impossible to get it reapproved by Sept unless he finds a job within his company. It's not about for advice about marriage- it's more about finding a way that he can stay in the US.

My husband was laid off during his green card application process and his company continued to sponsor him. He had a L1/L2 visa.

I am definitely not thinking about marriage right now as I'm young and I'm still in school . I'm 22 and boyfriend is 31. This is the first boyfriend I've really loved.

My boyfriend of 10 months recently got laid off.
This is very complicated due to the fact that he's on an H1 visa and it will expire in September. He's been working for the same company for 6 years. He's already applied for his green card ,but apparently needs his company needs to sponsor him for 3 more years. They had agreed to do that but now everything changes since he's being laid off. He doesn't have a lot of time to figure this out as it takes many months to get this sort of thing approved .

There's little I can do about it, aside from helping him edit his resume and baking him brownies. I can't predict what the future holds, but I am trying to think positively.
