I have a long drawn-out story of multiple miscarriages (conceived without assistance), followed by a single round of IUI while taking Clomid that resulted in healthy twins (born just before my 36th birthday). We naturally conceived again 18 months later (I was 37) but I miscarried in the second trimester. It took close to a year to conceive again but I finally got the BFP when I was 38 and I had a healthy baby just after my 39th birthday.

I think so - I don't temp, but I use OPKs and seem to have a pretty predictable pattern - positive on OPK at about day 15 and period 12-13 days after that. I've been tracking with OPKs for about five months, although we've only actually been in town at the same time to try (DH travels a lot, long haul, for work) in three of those. Not as much cervical mucus, that I can detect, so tried preseed last month. Our frequency of sex in the fertile window hasn't been great, so I'm looking forward to increasing that this month ; )

Age 35 went off the pill and got pregnant within the next month. M/c at 10wks. Pregnant again 8mos later without actively trying, just sex when we felt like it. Full-term pregnancy and bouncing baby boy born when I was 37.

At 36 it took about 5 minutes. I wasn't trying to conceive. Same thing with our second child at 41. We weren't planning on conceiving either of them. So for some people it can take years and no time at all for others.

1st try at 36 and 3rd month of trying at 38. Also just lucky - late fertility runs on the side of the family I take after the most. Are you using an ovulation kit? I did for #2 and I think it helped focus our efforts a little. Good luck!

1st try for each pregnancy at 36 and 38 (I was lucky, I know). I think after 6 months they suggest you see an RE. If you are getting worried, I would just get a referral and say you have been trying for 6 months.

We're in our fourth month of trying and, because Overthinkers r Us, am wondering how long it took other first timers our age who did eventually concieve?
