If you're willing to see an LPC, I HIGHLY recommend Phyllis Martin. She works out of 2 offices in Fairfax and is amazing. She helped me so much.

Op here I actually understood where 10:20 was coming from. I'd love to be pregnant but I'm just so anxious about going through another FET cycle. DH really wants a second child and I feel blessed that we were able to have one especially after what we went through to have the first one. And trying for the second has felt just as tough. Thanks for the suggestions re doctors. I'm in NW dc if others have diff reccs.

I am really sorry, OP. I echo PP's comment. I struggled with depression and infertility, and it's such a tough road. If you are in Virginia, I would recommend Harriet Dolinsky as a therapist and Dr. Susan Trachman as a psychiatrist. Best of luck and please know that you are not alone.

I am so sorry, OP. It is so freaking hard to manage all these competing things during fertility treatment. It SUCKS. Infertility is depressing, IVF is depressing, then to have chronic depression on top of that... that is a tough, tough position to be in. You need a good therapist that gets what you are going through. You also would really benefit from the Resolve support groups. I'd ask your doctor or nurse, tell them what you are going through, and ask about waiting a month. You may find that even talking through this stress and grief with a better therapist or support group might make a world of difference. Good luck.

OP--Have you asked your Fertility Clinic for some recommendations? I know Shady Grove works with some great therapist and even have some support groups. Also, check out RESOLVE. They should have information on their web site on support groups.

I used to suffer from severe depression, so I can relate. I'm not sure that waiting a month is going to help that much? I mean, for me, with depression, I couldn't command it to come and go as I pleased--I was at its mercy. It went on for me for years, and waiting a month wouldn't have helped me any. I'm not sure the severity of your depression.

Can you go ahead with the FET but definitely continue to take your meds and work with a good Doctor. Where are you located? That will help people advise you on a good Doctor. Insurance policy might be good to let us know as well.

I'm starting the FET cycle next week and I'm super depressed. I am considering waiting a month to try to get myself in a better frame of mind but DH thinks we need to move forward. I'm on a very low dose of my anti depressant and I'm sure that is part of it. I'm planning on going back on a higher dose after I get through the first trimester (God willing).

Does anyone know of a good psychiatrist I'm finding that mine is not the best fit for me. Feeling so overwhelmed.
