My child at TJ has known a lot of kids who have gone back to their base schools over the years. There are many different reasons, some academic, some personal. Kids we've kept up with have done fine with college admissions.
Do what's right for your child. TJ is great, but it is not the be-all and end-all. Lots of kids go to their base schools and get great educations. The child has to be happy to really do well in the long run.

Subject: Dropping out of TJ after first year?
DS returned to our base school. He is a junior now so we do not know what it will mean for college admissions.
Life is very good at high school as he is back with his friends, plays his music in band, and is much happier. He his better health wise as well.

Can you please share any info or experience if your child wanted to go back to base school and did not want to continue in TJ after 1 year at TJ.
what is the reason for dropping out? (if it is a personal reason, please do not share it.)
How did college admissions get impacted because of this decision to not continue in TJ? How was the life at base school? did kids at base school bully for returning back from TJ?
