NP here. My guess is that children (particularly young children) put these restrictions on the persons posting. If you have no kids (or grown kids), I don't see why one wouldn't be able to do these things (sleep in, go out at night, eat what they want, etc.).

Not having to take someone else's opinion/thoughts/feelings into consideration for anything! Whether it's making plans, choosing what to watch on TV, what to eat for dinner, when I'll be home, etc.

Being able to stay up late into the night going bar hopping, having fun and coming home and sleeping in as late as I want to. Being able to take off and go on a road trip whenever I feel like it. Being able to eat (or not eat) whatever I want to for dinner w/o worrying about pleasing anyone else.

Basically just the freedom to focus 100% on ME (even though I was pretty poor back then).

Unstructured, uncommitted time. A Saturday with no plans and no obligations where I can channel surf in my underwear, clean uninterrupted, get gussied up and go day drinking, go to a movie alone, thumb through books, make a phone call, or just sit in the bath. Even life feels like work now.

Not having to worry about meals.

This. And not having to cook if I don't want to. I'm a single mom, so while I don't have a partner, I still don't feel "single".

The electricity of realizing someone you like likes you back. That first kiss, first time sleeping together, etc.

Also, watching whatever I want on TV whenever I want.

Meeting a very nice woman, taking her on a first date, and learning more about her. Also, the first kiss.

Nothing. I have a 33yr old single friend and I'm often her wing woman and each and every time we go out I'm reminded of how incredibly happy I am that I'm no longer in the dating scene.

Nothing.at.all.

I miss the excitement of dating new people and sex.
