OP, I worked landscaping, and was employed by someone about 30 years younger, during a lob search! I worked my ass off, and was appreciative of both the money and the time getting away from looking. And, when you interview, they ask you what you were doing, as if looking for a FT job wasn't enough of a stress and time-consumer. I told them what I did.

My answer was "if you need the money" then yes.

Personally I wouldn't be because I am not great with other's kids (makes me nervous) but, and not saying this is YOUR mentality just generally commenting, that if I don't understand the mentality of some that would prefer to not work than work in a job they consider "beneath" them.

This is a good lesson to learn, we are not our jobs- for the good or the bad. I have a master's degree like everyone else, I am not above waiting tables again, if I lose my job. I don't get that mentality.

If you were a professional white collar worker (6 figures) who got laid off from a mid/senior level job, and needed the money, would you take a job as a part time nanny temporarily while you looked for a new job?
