Your temperature fluctuates throughout the day. Again, it's irrelevant for conception purposes. Be sure you are recording the exact temperature to the tenth of a degree. "Around 98" doesn't fly when temping to determine ovulation, an impending period or pregnancy.

everything she said! but yes, i think generally your temp is lowest first thing in the morning after several hours sleep. but as she said, temps other times of the day are irrelevant -- there are just too many variables to affect daytime temperatures.

There is no point to take your temp at any other times during the day. It is irrelevant. Take it at the same time every morning, BEFORE you get out of bed. Have the thermometer right there on the night stand.

If you get up at 5am every morning to pee but then go back to sleep until 6am, take it at 5am before you get out of bed.

If you sleep in on the weekends, set your alarm so you wake up at the same time as the work week, pop the thermometer in your mouthg, take a temp and then go back to sleep.

I'm new at this so apologies if this is basic knowledge: Is my BBT always lowest first thing in the morning? I know my temperature runs in the mid to high 97s - but that's when it's taken at random times of the day. Thanks.
