As long as criminals have guns (and they get them illegally, by the way), I am happy we own a gun and at least have a chance to adequately defend ourselves in the event some nut bag decides to break into our house.
That doesn’t mean there are not risks. Guns, nor people are infallible.

Here we have an unarmed man guarded by two armed men, presumably with gun training (as professional security guards). And the prisoner still managed to get a gun from them. Now he is out roaming around NoVa with a gun, a clear threat to society.
