Walnut, Gunstock oak, or lighter. But stain manufacturers test their stain for holdup with only their own finish products. Highly recommend sticking with one well known company rather than mix and matching, so if there is a problem you have recourse.
Also, after the staining job, be sure your floor contractor puts down a sealer prior to the multiple coats of finish of your choosing.
Do it once, do it right. This is after expensive floor stain and refinish failures on my part by an "excellent" floor company.
