A handwriting camp is not unheard of -- I'm not sure why prior posters are acting all shocked. We have worked with an OT in the past -- get in touch with Cheryl Bregman in Rockville. We've worked with her and she runs handwriting camps over the summer

Handwriting is difficult for many kids if they have low tone and/or dysgraphia. If OP's kid is in K, you can't use a keyboard in most schools without an a formal accommodation.

yes, We practice writing at home all year long but I want to take the summer off

Lab has Mastering Handwriting program too.

A handwriting camp? Really? Just buy some handwriting books yourself. I can't imagine sitting in a camp even if it is half-day doing handwriting. My son practices 2 pages a day all summer every summer.

The Lab School of Washington will cover both reading and handwriting.

McLean's Summer Edge has a reading focused program. I don't know about handwriting.

My mother sends some cursive and block handwriting books from our native country and we do that over the summer. Far nicer than handwriting without tears.
You only need a few minutes each day.

Thank to the poster that made a list of most of the camps around the DC Area. My child is currently in Kindergarten at a totally non academic school and I would like for him to spend the summer practicing writing and reading. So basically we would be doing the opposite, he played and enjoyed the outdoors during the whole school year and the summer should be spent doing more academic stuff. I found a reading summer camp sponsored by Loyola University and although it is only one day a week, we'll go for that. But I can't find anything for just writing. I have searched Handwriting Without Tears but I couldn't find any leads.
If someone has any suggestions I'll appreciate it.
