we are not taking our spot, and the pp is right - last year was such a disaster that they went all the way through the wait list and then had to start accepting people they hadn't even interviewed. Given that they have an absentee principal who does not seem to care if they survive, I would not be surprised if he did not bother to fix the problem.

At #13, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Tell your child that everything is going to be ok.
Congratulations! I would say with confidence that on May 1 your child will be accepted to Walls!

Last year they went through the entire wait list and still could not fill the class.

DC was no 13 last year. Got in immediately when they moved the list! may 1. You will get in. At least 40 kids will turn down spots for privates and Wilson.

Based on experience in previous years, you have a good chance of getting pulled off the wait list.

I'm not sure about last year, but the year before they pulled a lot of students off the waitlist (mostly bc of students choosing a private over Walls). What number did your child get, OP?
