lol that is a very good sign, PP. Means your hcg is increasing and the test line is sucking up all the dye before it reaches the control line.

Funny how when you explain something with control line it all of a sudden changes the outcome. If the control line is getting lighter the pregnancy is progressing great. Let's hope the second line in this case is the control line.

I think PP was saying her CONTROL line was getting lighter, but that her test line was getting darker. That is a great sign PP!

You can't really assume much of anything with these tests. Unfortunately, when my tests got lighter within the first couple weeks after transfer it was a chemical pregnancy. With FRER I found that you can get to a point where the test line is almost completely gone before you max out the tests. With the internet cheapie tests I was able to dilute the urine and test with a new strip and see if the line got darker or lighter since you can max out the cheapies after a couple weeks. 10pt I am not sure you would have maxed out either test yet though. Sorry.

What kind of trigger did you use? 10 dpt should be long enough for an HCG trigger to have flushed out (I always tested mine out and they had flushed by 8 days post retrieval), but I think they say 12 to be safe. It also matters how many days post retrieval you transferred.

I'm so sorry this is nerve-wracking, but I wouldn't entirely give up hope yet. The color of the line could be inconsistent test to test or depending on urine concentration. Obviously this is anecdotal, but the one chemical I had was always really light.

Good luck and fingers crossed!

This is true if it's test #1. Subsequent tests once a line has been established are generally good at telling you which way the pregnancy is going to go.

Unfortunately, I got a line and the next day it was lighter, turned out to be a chemical pregnancy

A line, any line, is a positive. The color of the line can and will vary from test to test and brand to brand. As long as there is still a visible line, you're still on track.

Congrats OP! If you're asking if the second line stays dark the answer is yes .... But after your HCG gets to a certain point the second line will get lighter because the HPT can no longer process the high levels. This usually happens around 20 - 25 days PT.
