I read a post on a mommy blog once (a snarky, funny blog...most are horrible) that her son put a raw bean in his ear, didn't tell anyone and it SPROUTED!

And we all know that bad luck comes in threes, OP, so you must be done for a while.

Well, at least once a day I find myself telling toddler DD not to eat out of the compost bin, so...

I watched my kid put a pea up his nose. He was so happy with himself.

Don't worry, OP. My sister put popcorn kernels in her ears around 4 years old. She didn't tell anyone...and then she took a bath. The popcorn swelled up, and she went days with my mom thinking her daughter was going deaf. Finally sis spilled the beans (er, kernels?) and off to the ENT they went where they were vacuumed out.

Good point. Do you have pets, OP? Some days I feel like it's a competition between the cats and my son to see who does the crazier things. Overall it is a draw.

I had to wash oatmeal out of the dog's fur this morning and lost one of DS's shoes carrying him to the car during a tantrum (a tantrum that started because the pigeons flew away). I am going to be sitting next to you at a future AA meeting.

So Monday night I posted a thread called "Pen in dryer", about my husband leaving a pen in the laundry and the damage it did to our dryer. Last night I posted "Turd in the tub", after my 2.5yo pooped in the bath. I've now hit the trifecta - a dinner tonight my 5yo son was playing with a bit of bread, and somehow absentmindedly put it in his ear. Because, you know, that's what you do. Sigh . . .

I wasn't even sure there was anything left in there, but I took him to urgent care just in case. And wouldn't you know, it was there. The dr got it out, everything is fine, but I swear this has to be my worst parenting week ever. There's just not enough wine in the house to get me through this one.
