Thanks again! I used bankrate.com and found I could get 1.05% at GE Savings Bank. Opened the account and transferred the money online. Woo hoo!

Ally MMA is .85. Cap1 is likely the same. Cursory glance has no-penalty CDs in the same ballpark.

You might investigate a longer term CD and canceling early. Penalty may not be enough to make up higher rate.

I have $120,000 from the sale of my house, which I plan to use on my next house. I might find a house in 3 months or in a year. Navy Federal offers a jumbo money market account at .6% interest. Is that my best bet?
