They tow people all the time, so I would not risk it. If you have a SAA permit, you may park outside your designated parking area during non-session hours or weekends, but a car without any permit at all will get towed or ticketed.

Technically they can ticket you at any time, but they usually won't in the evenings or on the weekends, but watch out if Congress has remained in session. Then they will ticket you because many/most people who work there are required to be in the office whenever Congress is in session and need to park.

While looking for a parking spot near the Capitol, I saw plenty of street blocks that were marked "SAA Parking Only." It looks like that refers to Sergeant at Arms/ Senate parking, but is that restricted parking at all hours, or just during business hours or when Congress is in session? I was particularly confused by the block of Louisiana Ave right in front of Union Station where there's parking along the curb, and then a stretch of spots in the middle of the road. The curbs had the SAA Only placards, but there were *no signs posted* for the spots in the middle of the road. Are all those spots restricted?
