Yes but you have to use it for a really long time before you notice a difference, and the difference won't be "WOW", it will be subtle and a lot of times you will only notice it when comparing an older photo of yourself with a current one. Also, thanks to "O___-care" , the price of even generic Retin-A has literally tripled. I know because I just tried to get a tube. My pharmacist called me to warn me of the price before I picked it up. I told him to keep it and canceled my script order.

It's all marketing. Derms also are just trying to make a buck. Water, stay out of the sun and eat a good diet. The rest is genetics. My dad is a dermatologist.

Yes they do. Glycolic acid, vitamin C, sunscreen, retinols all improve the appearance of your skin. However most over the counter creams are little more than lotion. Dermatologists have the good ones.

You've answered you own question. The people who have the most money to spend and whose livelihoods depends on appearing perpetually youthful haven't found a successful product. Drink lots of water, avoid the sun, don't smoke, use moisturizer. The rest is snake oil.

Don't buy OTC. Visit a reputable dermatologist for recommendations.
