Resurrecting this thread... what is the cost of infant care at Goddard?

We loved, loved, loved Goddard on wind river lane. We checked out the one on king farm but it didn't feel very warm. Only cons to goddard is the cost but that is true of most quality daycares in the area.

OP here. We actually haven't 100% determined where exactly to live in Rockville. We are considering King Farm or close to Twinbrook. Wie will be renting until we purchase a house. Any recommendations for areas to check out or apartment/townhouses is welcomed as well. My husband will be working in DC so we would like to be close to the metro. For those of you recommended Goddard. Any pros or cons? I preferred to send both kids to the same school if possible.

Rockville is huge, at least with respect to commuting time. It could take a half hour to get from one side to the other during rush hour. Do you know where in Rockville you want to live?

Maybe the Goddard School which is also a national chain like BH. There are several around Rockville.

My daughter is in the 2 year old program at Potomac Nursery School and we've been very happy. They're really flexible in terms of how many days and before/after care hours you want. We toured 4 different nursery school/daycare centers and this one was our favorite. I'm an elementary teacher in the county and have been very pleased (my husband said I was a tough critic because I'm a teacher myself, ha!)

They don't offer infant care though... our 14 month old son is at an in-home daycare about a mile from Potomac Nursery School (where our daughter went before we switched her). We've been very pleased. Her name is Mary and she's off Wotton and Falls Road. Her number is 301-605-4942.

My son attended BH in Rockville for a year. I loved it. The director was always quick to answer my questions, very friendly and helpful. She and the Asst director always greeted my children by name in the morning--including the one that wasn't attending (already in school)

The current facility is 2 stories. My son was always upstairs. I found the 3 and 4 year old rooms to be very large, well organized, and full of light. There were lots of centers and only some centers were open at any given time. It helped with the amount of choices and chaos. I also liked how the teacher limited the number of children at each center. 10 children could not play with the blocks for example.

I liked that the food was provided. I just sent in a blanket and a change of clothes.

When my son left, they presented me with a portfolio of all of his work. It was in a binder so not just a handful of papers. You could see the progression of fine motor skills--letters, coloring went from scribbles to coloring in the lines, to making his own pictures. You could see the development of his self portrait from a big circle to a circle with sticks to a circle with sticks, eyes, nose, and mouth etc. I think all preschools do this but I really liked how it was packaged so that I could easily see the progression and it was all on 8x11 paper!!!! The binder is in my office bookshelf. The loose papers he currently brings home from K just get tossed.

The playground is really nice and they go outside most days. I got emails to remember to bring boots and gloves.

If they offered older kid after care, I would not hesitate to send my children there.

Christ Episcopal in Rockville has a good preschool, but won't have infant care. Another good preschool option nearby is Winchester School - also not an option for daycare for a 1 year old, but a lovely program for 3 year olds-2nd grade.

I recently toured BH Rockville and I didn't like it. The rooms were outdated and it seemed dark and cold. I was there in the AM and it seemed really unorganized. Maybe the new center will be better. Where will you be living?

St. James Children's School is technically in Potomac but my house in Rockville is a 4 minute drive away. We've been very happy there.

E do in home care and are very happy, but it sounds like you want a center. Regardless, this website is awesome. Sign up (they do not spam you afterwards) and type in an address and radius and they'll give you results. It is how we found out in home care.

Does anyone have any recommendations on daycares and/ or preschools for a three-year-old? We are relocating from Chicago in the summer and are searching for options. Currently my daughter is attending a bright horizons and we love it. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with healthy beginnings in Rockville? I know they're opening up a new bright horizons center near Twinbrook Metro. I am also open to other recommendations. We are also expecting so would probably need part time of full time infant care as of January 2016. Thanks in advance!!!
