Another year at daycare, then attend our IB starting in K.

Hopefully this is not a PS3 parent.

Why?

Because moving would do no good for a 3 year old for public options.

Lycee Rochambeau, if Stokes doesn't work out. 90% sure that we're going that route either way for various reasons.

Stay at our IB for a year or two and try again. Only after losing the lottery several times would I be able to motivate to move.

I'm fine with keeping DC in our IB for Pk4, possibly K as well. Beyond that I think we will have to scrape together the funds to move to a higher achieving IB or we may head to the burbs altogether (tired of living in cramped quarters) We've come to realize how much we value the neighborhood school concept so I don't know if charters/private are for our family.

Interest rates to buy are likely to go up. Buying now is a good idea. Not that parent, but I get it. Better safe than sorry.

We will probably get into our IB school (not terrible and supposedly very good at the preschool level) for PreK3. If we don't get into one of the handful of charters with a clear path through at least middle school before K, we will move. We are considering MoCo or moving IB for Oyster-Adams.

For PS3 we just kept our kid at a private preschool. I didn't see point of moving since there's no possibility of public preschool in suburbs. If this happens for kindergarten, we would probably move.

I hope most people put safer options on their list so this won't happen. For those who I know that did the lottery last year everyone ended up somewhere they were comfortable, if not happy.

If you IB school isn't an option would you

a. try to find a private with rolling admissions and be financially strapped or
b. move?
