Have your daughter browse Howzz.com for ideas.

Choose any color that you like and take the chip or paint name/number to Home Depot and buy their Behr brand paint. They can mix the color for you. I love Farrow and Ball colors, but their paint is way too expensive. So I take in the sample and color name and usually the Home Depot has the exact mix requirements already programmed in their computer to make the same exact color in their Behr paint.

Go with an eggshell finish for easy maintenance. If you are painting yourself, Matte paints will be the easy to put on the walls; however, they are awful to clean. Benjamin Moore makes a Satin Matte that works well, too.

I love the idea of choosing a neutral paint color and then using removable decals to add pop to the walls. So easy to update as she matures.

OP here. I have been looking at decals, which would be optimum for me, but all I have seen are too young for her. Ideas?

OP here. Thanks for the helpful responses. I have noticed that wallpaper is a lot more than I expected, so I am rethinking that. I am sure there is a reasonable, teen girl friendly option.

I am terrible at coordinating colors, so any help in that area would be useful. I like the alternating colors idea. We shy away from overly trendy. Today's grays are yesterday's tans, and I just don't feel like painting every five years, frankly.

I love the suggestions so far, thank you, keep them coming. Any specific color combinations? Any specific paint brand?

I'm interested in why you want to do wallpaper. I'm afraid of the commitment so was considering whether removeable wallpaper is an option for my DDs room. But paint + her own decorating also seem the easiest.

If you must do wallpaper, I'd do something like this, with pink for the comforter, rug, accents, etc.

Don't teenagers like to put stuff up on their walls? I'd go for paint instead.

Do you send emails like this at work, OP? I don't think anybody can tell you anything without some details.
