OP, you would have gotten sympathy if you had starting your post as a vent saying that it's tough/unfortunate for you that because you are an hourly employee, you lose $$ every time the preschool is closed for school. Folks would have agreed that makes things tough for you.
But you have to understand for all the reasons people have given why a preschool can't operate that way. Trust me, they are not raking in some big profit when they are closed for snow days.
If you let people know where you live, they might have some suggestions for you. Maybe a preschool that rarely closes (I know some coworkers who have daycare that operates on OPM, not the schools divisions, so its rarely closed) but it's not reasonable for you to blast the preschool.
