Is that a real question? Should it even be in the college forum?

Hell.no. Go to the local community college or state school. It will be cheaper, and will look far better to employers.

For those who grew up in the area Strayer and the Washington School for Secretaries were always advertised as competitors. Both were for-profit technical schools where you could learn specific job skills.

Those job skills are useful, and being good at them is important for specific jobs, and this may be personal bias coming through, but I'm not going to consider classes or a degree from Strayer in the same league as a community college or other 4-year program.

Just wanted to add to my previous post from 11:09 that I found that even community college was hard to juggle with sometimes.

So one of the things that I really valued from the schools that cater to working adults is the flexibility they provide.

+1. It's more for working adults looking to either supplement to their experience and maybe existing education background or to maybe change fields.

I don't have personal experience with Strayer but know people that did go there and I did go somewhere similar.

And I would have to say that it does give you knowledge that will help you in the field.

But preferences will always go to those that went to a more reputable school and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for people that are just starting out in the field. (in case you are asking for your kids or something like that)

It's a for-profit college. It's not the WORST for-profit college, but I'd still never ever advise someone to go there. Go to Montgomery Community College or NOVA Community College.

No. In fact up to a few eyars ago, they were just a technical school and not a university at all.
