I would consider an evaluation for the very least the coordination issues.

OP here. My older child is SN so thats why I worry. My older one has social/emotional delays. My almost 3 yr old is very loving, affectionate. However, she has no friends even close to her age. She isn't in preschool or day care yet. She doesn't separate from us easily at all. She's very attached to us. If i had to drop her off at preschool, she would probably be hysterical and cry.

She is also a bit uncoordinated. She can not walk up the steps one step at a time, at least not on our steps at home. The steps come up to her knee so I can't see how that can be easy anyhow.

One thing that really worries me is when she gets upset over something, anything, she just cries hysterically rather than using her words to tell us what has upset her. She seems to get so upset that she can't calm herself to express anything. She has no issue with language.

Even my disabled child has healthy and normal play skills, OP. This question is so vague that it's impossible to answer. Are you concerned about emotional problems? Behavioral problems? Motoric challenges? Cognitive? Developmental? Social?

Give us some idea of what is concerning you or what milestones you are looking at.

My girl just turned 3 in October. She asks a TON of questions and pretend plays nonstop. Doesn't go to school.

OP- What is your child doing or not going that you are concerned about?

I have a 2 1/2 year old boy. He likes to push his cars and trains around, dress up, and pretends a lot. He pretends to be different animals or he pretends to be a cook or a waiter or a fireman. He likes pretend cooking a lot. Sometimes he plays with dolls but not as often. He also asks me to read to him, has favorite stories, requests his favorite songs, and likes physical play (running, jumping, climbing, etc). He likes action figures a lot too, and blocks.

My just-turned-two year old does nearly all pretend play, some cooperative (though still primarily parallel).

Realizing that there may be huge leaps in development between a 2 and 3 year old…my daughter will be 3 next month. She has not started preschool yet. I want to know if her play skills are healthy and normal. If you have a child of similar age, what kind of play does she engage in when alone or with you? How much pretend play does she engage in?
