Yeah, I have no idea what this mtg is about, but I know a few CPAs that were SAHMs for a while - or still are more or less working very part-time, I think your skills may be in demand

In the meantime, can anyone think of a reason she'd want to meet with me over menial work that I haven't even started yet? Start date is in two weeks? I've been out of the rat race for a few years and I'm not sure if this is the norm now.
You never know... Could be she got your resume and wants you for something else. If you technically start from a temp agency and they want to hire you they have to buy out the temp agency.
I think this. Think about if you really want more responsibility than the clerical position you were hired for and be prepared to hear the offer and if you need to, take some time to think about it.

I can tell you that HR at my job is like, 5 people. And one of them only does benefits, another only does training and development, no recruiting or hiring at all. So it would not be at all unusual for the HR director to contact a candidate about something and it could easily be something piddling. I wouldn't stress about it.

If lost, couldn't she have simply given that as the reason for calling?
Why request a meeting instead of having the piddling HR worker call for it? Why not ask the temp agency for it?
