It could be either one. OP, what are you looking for? The Episcopal version is going to be quite liberal. The code words are "inclusive" and "welcoming". The Anglican version has less liberal positions on social issues. The code word is usually "traditional"
Depending on what you're looking for, TFCA may be for you, but if it's not, there are other Episcopal churches in the area with youth programs that are very accepting of all.

Because OP is looking for a youth group, not a discussion on Episcopal vs. Anglican theology which anyone can look up in wikipedia. TFCAnglican is the youth group her friend mentioned. I don't want her spending a Sundy going to the wrong church. If you want to fight about theology start another thread.

I'm sure the kids in the photos are brimming with Christian goodness - so why you wouldn't want people checking out the church to know about its recent history and political stance?

Yes, and anyone considering joining should be aware of the difference in advance. If not, they'll figure it out quickly by attending a service. I'm hoping a member of either church wouldn't want to trick someone of a different persuasion to join

No, this is the ^^ the Falls Church Episcopal. It's very tiny. The dynamic one with the monster youth group (our kids attend - it just sent 6 huge motorcoaches away for "Breakaway Weekened" with 100s of high school kids), is The Falls Church Anglican. Here is it's link. www.tfcanglican.org. The Falls Church Anglican also has a Facebook page. The pastor in charge of the youth groups is James Byrne. Great guy. There are youth group meetings for every age every weekend on Sundays in the morning. Then in the evening the fellowship groups meet. "Cornerstone" is for highschoolers and "Crossroads" is for middle schoolers.[b] The Fallsl Church Anglican recently bought property to install its staff, then will start construction on a larger church than The Falls Church in late 2015. Meanwhile, the members meet at various rented spots. Tomorrow's services are at Bishop O'Connell Auditorium at 9:00 and ll:00. The church derives its name because it was built by vestryman George Washington on the road out to visit the Great Falls. Falls Church, the city, grew up around it.

It was returned to the Episcopal church last year after years of lawsuits. The congregation there is now mainstream Episcopalian and not part of the breakaway Anglicans.

The other day I was talking with a colleague and she mentioned her church. I asked where she attended and I think her answer was "Falls" Church... as in the name or reference to the church itself was "Falls." Then she said "In Falls Church."
She described the youth program are really large and seemed to really enjoy the church.
It took me a minute to realize that Falls Church, VA is the name of a city, (Sorry, not a VA person) and by that point, we had both returned to our mutual desks.
I know i can ask her again, but I don't like bringing up religion out of the blue. I was thinking that someone here may know.
