We got the best price from Capital Fence of Poolesville, MD. But yeah, fences are expensive.

Yeah, this is what we ended up doing. We had a small area but quotes were around 1K. We did it for $100 and a few hours.

Agreed, it is ridiculous. We just used All American fences to fence part of our backyard and we're happy with the results. Price was almost $1000 less than the competitors too and we got four quotes. They've done a lot of work in our neighborhood.

We used these guys http://www.adirondackfencebuilders.com/ and they had a good price and we were very happy with the fence. My mom also used them too after we did.

DIY. Putting fence posts in isn't hard. DH did our 1/4 backyard for about $2,000 of materials, nice cedar with pressure treated posts.

Do you have to fence the entire property? Maybe do only a small area as a play yard? Or if you have a do, a small area for a dog run?

We got 4ft. aluminum fence installed last year, 550 ft. + 3 gates for $11K by American Fences. Shop around.
